Former India opener Gautam Gambhir condemned the deadly terrorist attack on CRPF personnel in Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday.

The whole country was left devastated after the terrorists targeted a CRPF convoy on Thursday. The attack in which about 30 troopers were killed is the second biggest attack on the paramilitary force in the last nine years. The incident, believed to be a suicide attack, saw a van packed with explosives reportedly ram into a CRPF bus on the Srinagar-Jammu highway in Lethpora town, about 30 km from Srinagar, killing 30 personnel and injuring many.

The entire nation is in a state of shock as well as furious following the gruesome attack. And ex-India Gautam Gambhir also echoed the same sentiments when he took to Twitter to vent his anger. The World Cup-winning star, known for his no-nonsense approach on the field, stated that ‘enough is enough’ while making it clear that conversation is not the solution to these repeated terrorist attacks.

“Yes, let’s talk with the separatists. Yes, let’s talk with Pakistan. But this time conversation can’t be on the table, it has to be in a battle ground. Enough is enough. 18 CRPF personnel killed in IED blast on Srinagar-Jammu highway ,” wrote Gautam Gambhir.

Gambhir, meanwhile, was not the only cricketer to condemn the attacks and pay tribute to the martyrs. The likes of VVS Laxman, Shikhar Dhawan, Suresh Raina and Mohammed Kaif also took to Twitter to send their condolences to the families of the martyrs.

“Sad and pained to hear about the dastardly attack on our brave CRPF men in #Pulwama in which many of our jawans have been martyred. I pray for a quick and speedy recovery of those injured in the attack,”  Laxman wrote on Twitter.
