Famous Indian Cricketers And Their Educational Qualifications

It is not easy for a budding cricketer to find the right balance between the studies and the game. In fact, we have seen how the players have given their all to the game and thus they had to compromise on the studies. Furthermore, the future in the game is always uncertain and hence the players take a huge risk if they go for their dreams of playing for the country.

In fact, it is not easy for the young players to concentrate on their study when they dream of playing the sport at the topmost level.

Here are the Famous Indian cricketers and their educational qualification.

MS Dhoni

The former Indian skipper had to struggle a lot in the initial phase of his career. Dhoni is a Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com). In fact, Dhoni also worked as a Ticket collector (TTE) at Kharagpur Railway Station.

Dhoni is regarded as one of the best captains of the game. The talisman wicketkeeper batsman had led India led with aplomb. Dhoni had led India to glory in the 2007 T20 World Cup, 2011 World Cup and 2013 Champions Trophy.

Sachin Tendulkar

Former legendary batsman Sachin Tendulkar started his career at a tender age. Tendulkar could pass class 12 and made his Indian debut at the age of 16 years. In fact, Sachin Tendulkar started playing the game at the age of 11 years.

Yuvraj Singh

Yuvraj Singh, who recently retired from the game, passed class 12 from DAV. The southpaw batsman was named as the Player of the Tournament in the 2011 World Cup.

Rahul Dravid is one of the most educated Indian cricketers. Dravid did MBA from St. Joseph’s College. The Wall was well known for solid defence and savoured great success in Test cricket and ODI format.

Anil Kumble

Anil Kumble is one of the smartest players. Kumble did Mechanical Engineering from RV College of Engineering. Kumble is the leading wicket-taker for India with 619 wickets.

Virat Kohli is currently leading India with aplomb in the ongoing World Cup. Kohli is also the best batsman in the world as his consistency is mind blowing. The Indian captain had completed Class 12 from New Delhi.

Shikhar Dhawan

The southpaw batsman has done a fine job for the Indian team while opening the batting. However, Dhawan was unlucky as he was ruled out of the World Cup with a fractured thumb. Dhawan has studied upto class 12.

Zaheer Khan

Zaheer Khan is regarded as one of the best fast bowlers produced by India. Khan had decided to pursue his career in Engineering.  But Zaheer decided to drop his studies after taking cricket seriously.

VVS Laxman

VVS Laxman is also one of most educated players. In fact, Laxman decided to drop his MBBS degree to pursue his cricketing career.

Virender Sehwag

Virender Sehwag was one of the most destructive batsman. Sehwag completed his Bachelor Degree from  Jamia Millia Islamia University, New Delhi.

Gautam Gambhir
