Fans Brutally Troll Mohammad Yousuf For Tipping Pakistan To Win 2019 ICC World Cup

The 2019 ICC World Cup is still around a year away. However, the fever is already catching up with the cricket fraternity. The teams have started their planning already while fans and pundits have started predicting on how their team’s would perform in the showpiece event. On the similar lines, former Pakistan batsman Mohammad Yousuf has claimed that Pakistan are the favourites to win the tournament in England.

The Men in Green are currently ranked fifth in the ICC ODI team rankings. Moreover, their record in recent World Cup has not been great either. However, Yousuf believes Pakistan could go all the way in the event next year.

Recently in an interview with Pak Passion, he explained the reason behind his choice. He said:

“I think Pakistan are the favourites. I say that because I feel they have the best bowling attack, particularly on flat tracks. When I say best, I mean they have the best-balanced attack. An attack which can take wickets regularly and not let the opposition settle.”

“Another key factor is that Pakistan will not be relying on part-time bowlers, they have six or seven genuine bowlers in the team and that is something that not many of the teams participating at the World Cup will have at their disposal. On the sort of flat tracks that will be available in England at that time, the team with the best bowling attack will succeed. I believe that bowling attack belongs to Pakistan,” he added.

Yousuf’s assessment might have been inspired from Pakistan’s show in last year’s ICC Champions Trophy. Sarfraz Ahmed & Co. were the bottom ranked team in the event. However, they went on to beat the likes of South Africa, England and India to win the tournament against all the odds.

But Yousuf’s prediction has not gone down well with the fans. As a result, the fans did not take long to brutally troll the legendary batsman. They also reminded Yousuf that Pakistan’s recent ODI series whitewash against Zimbabwe doesn’t make them the favourites to lift the World Cup next year.

Here are some of the reactions:
