While Ravi Shastri has really done a brilliant job as India’s head coach, he faces the trolls from fans more often than not. And the former India allrounder has found himself in the firing line of the fans once again after reports emerged that former India skipper Sourav Ganguly is set to take over as the new president of BCCI later this month.

Ganguly filed his nominations on Monday ahead of the BCCI elections, scheduled to take place on 23rd of this month. Media reports suggest that Ganguly will be elected as the president unopposed. And the news was enough for some fans to take the mickey out of Ravi Shastri. He and Ganguly were involved in a war of words of 2016 when the Cricket Advisory Committee had appointed Anil Kumble as the head coach.

Ravi Shastri then accused Ganguly of being absent during his interview and ever since the two have never left a single opportunity to take a jibe at each other. Ganguly had skipped the meeting because it took place through video conferencing as Shastri was in Bangkok. Later, Shastri slammed Ganguly after being overlooked. Ganguly had then hit back at Shastri, saying that he was living in a fool’s paradise if he thought only one member decided his fate.

And the fans are now excited over how Shastri would react to the news of Ganguly becoming the BCCI president. Here are some of the reactions:

Meanwhile, Ganguly will only serve for ten months if he becomes the president. Since he is the CAB president for more than 5 years now, he will have to take a cooling off period as per new BCCI constitution. On the other hand, Shastri’s second stint as head coach will end after the T20 World Cup 2021.
