Team India all-rounder Hardik Pandya has been trolled mercilessly on social media by fans after posting a picture on micro photo blogging website Instagram.
Wearing an all-black outfit Hardik posted a photo. He also sported a hat and a pair of goggles. Virat Kohli-led on the other side is in Nottingham for the third Test at Trent Bridge.
The visiting team has already lost the two first Tests and are staring down a series defeat yet again in overseas conditions. They fought pretty hard in the opening Test courtesy impressive performances from Virat Kohli, Ravichandran Ashwin and Ishant Sharma.
However, in the second Test, they were blown away by an innings and 159 runs.
Team India has been criticised quite often in the last few days for their below-par performances in the Test series so far. India didn’t practice hard ahead of the Test series and decided to take a five day during the gap between the Tests and the One-day International series.
Many former cricketers have lashed out at the team management. It was due to their lacklustre approach in the Test series so far.
The Lord’s Test finished on Sunday, and they only left London on Wednesday. It will be a must-win situation for India when they face England on August 18 at the Trent Bridge.
India criticised by former players:
Former Indian skipper Sunil Gavaskar lashed out at the team and wondered why the Indian players didn’t practice hard.
Former chief selector Sandeep Patil had jokingly taken a dig at captain Kohli. The Indian skipper had said that they would enjoy their coffee in England.
Patil reiterated that the team might have taken it too seriously and are enjoying the coffee.
On the other side, the disappointed fans lashed out at Hardik Pandya while posting his picture of Instagram. The time will decide whether he would feature in the playing XI or not.
“We all clearly remember captain Virat Kohli and coach Ravi Shastri’s joint press conference before leaving for the tour of England earlier this summer. One bold statement stood out. ‘We have enough days to acclimatise in England. And we are going to enjoy coffee,'” Patil maintained in his column for The Quint.
“Seeing the performance of the Indian team in the first two Tests so far, the team really seems to have taken their skipper’s statement seriously – they are truly only enjoying the coffee in English conditions,” Patil said.
