Fans Urge Selectors to Include Mayank Agarwal and Prithvi Shaw in Team India

Team India fans have urged the selectors to rope in young batsmen Prithvi Shaw and Mayank Agarwal for the remainder of the five-match Test series against England.

Meanwhile, the duo shared a 277-run partnership for the first wicket while playing for India A against South Africa A.

On the other hand, India struggled due to their openers in the first Test at Edgbaston. While Shikhar Dhawan and Murali Vijay got a good start in the first innings but failed to convert the start, they managed only 19 runs in the second essay.

Poor opening partnerships have been the case for India on foreign soil this year. In the series against South Africa, the opening pair added 16 and 30 runs respectively for the opening wicket in the first Test.

Furthermore, they registered 28 and 11 runs in the second Test followed by seven and 17 in the third Test.

The form of openers remains a matter of huge concern for India in England as well. With already 1-0 down, India will want their openers to come good in the next Test at Lord’s commencing from August 9.

It is likely that KL Rahul will slot in an opener while Cheteshwar Pujara will make his way back in place of Shikhar Dhawan.

India dropped Pujara from the first XI, owing to poor form much to everybody’s surprise. However, he will now draft in now after the Edgbaston loss.

Mayank Agarwal is likely to get a nod in Team India, as he had a great run in last domestic season.

The Karnataka batsman scored over 2000 runs but failed to get a place in the national team for the tri-nation Nidahas Trophy.

Prithvi Shaw has also been scoring runs to consistently knock the selection door of Team India.

I don't think Mayan is very good bastman because failure in test match in ENG A tour is shown that he can play well in subcontinent other hand prithvi Shaw has a talent to perform any condition. Because prithvi Shaw has been consistent in NZ in wc and in ENG A tour .
