Shubman Gill has made his first-class debut against Bengal in November 2017 and since then, the cricketer has flourished and has never looked back. He also ended up as the highest run-scorer with 372 runs from six matches at an average of 124 and a strike-rate of 112.38 in the U-19 World Cup at New Zealand. Moreover, the right-hander had scored three half-centuries and one century against arch-rivals Pakistan in the semi-final.

However, after his impressive show, Gill got an offer from Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) to play the 2018 Indian Premier League (IPL). After that, Shubman Gill showed his magic for Punjab in Vijay Hazare Trophy and then for India ‘C’ in the Deodhar Trophy.

Shubman Gill struck a superb unbeaten 199 runs on Saturday to power Punjab to 308 for 2 in reply to Tamil Nadu’s first innings score of 215 on the second day of the Ranji Trophy Elite Group ‘B’ match.  He must have had butterflies in his stomach and would’ve been keen to score the century as soon as he takes the park on the match’s penultimate day.

He picked from exactly where he left to bring his double century, eventually finishing on 268 runs. His massive knock included 29 boundaries and four massive sixes. Shubman Gill takes off his helmet elegantly and soaks in the applause from his teammates.

The 19-year-old completed his maiden double century. In the meantime, the fans urged for his inclusion in the Indian National Cricket Team. They are currently playing the second Test against Australia at the new Perth Stadium. The opening duo KL Rahul and Murali Vijay have merely been awful, and the fans want Gill to be drafted into the Indian side on an immediate basis.

Here is how the Twitter applauds the young lad from Punjab:
