Virender Sehwag would be the same person even if he scores 300 or gets out for a duck, Simon Taufel recently said. Sehwag would start off a innings with a boundary and hit a six to reach his century, it hardly mattered to him. He was fearless in his approach, which brought out the best within him, and benefited the teams he played for.

Sehwag was the captain for the erstwhile Delhi Darvedevils for the first two editions before handing the reigns to fellow state-mate Gautam Gambhir. Farveez Maharoof, out-of-favour from national team, was bought by the Delhi franchise for $225,000 in the inaugural edition. He played a crucial role for the side and knows a thing or two about Virender Sehwag.

Farveez Maharoof: Even when he was captain, he was somebody that never took any pressure

Farveez Maharoof picked up 15 wickets in the inaugural edition for the erstwhile Delhi Daredevils (now Delhi Captials) besides bowling economical spells. He feels Sehwag always backed his players and never took much pressure. The Sri Lankan also said, the former India opener, was one of the ‘coolest person’ he ever met.

”He (Virender Sehwag) is the most coolest person I’ve ever met, he was somebody that doesn’t take pressure that much. He lives by the day and he is the person, who backs you all the time to go in the middle. Even when was captaining, he was someone very free-flowing, easy-going, cool character,” Farveez Maharoof said in an exclusive interview to CricketAddictor.
