India began transforming into one of the potent fielding sides under MS Dhoni. When Virat Kohli took charge of the Indian team, he began elevating the team in the fielding department one step further. Kohli has been its flag bearer; however, all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja remains the top-notch in India. The likes of Rohit Sharma, Shikhar Dhawan, and Manish Pandey have also displayed brilliance on the field.
Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) roped in Kamlesh Nagarkoti in IPL 2018; however, he could not play that edition and the subsequent due to injuries. The 20-year old was part of India’s U-19 World Cup squad in 2018, wherein he picked up nine wickets from six games at 16.33 apiece. He also picked up two wickets in the final as the men in blue lifted the trophy. The two-time champions will hope he plays the full season this year.
“But most importantly Rahul Dravid had told me that he is one of the best fielders” : KKR CEO
Venky Mysore underlined that they are very much looking forward to seeing Nagarkoti play and labelled him as a son to him. Mysore highlighted his all-round abilities and recalled the time when Rahul Dravid told him he is one of the best fieldsman going around. Dravid went on to state that Kamlesh Nagarkoti can match up to Jadeja, which is a massive claim. The former Indian captain has served as the coach of the U-19 side.
“One guy that we are completely looking forward to see in action is Kamlesh Nagarkoti. He is an unbelievable young kid, he is like a son to me. People who have seen him bowl, the pace at which he bowls, and he can really bat. But most importantly Rahul Dravid had told me that he is one of the best fielders going around in India. He would compete with the likes of Jadeja, which is a big statement from someone like Rahul Dravid,” Venky stated.
