Four persons allegedly involved in organised cricket betting have been arrested here, police said today. Meanwhile, it included the recently concluded Nidahas Trophy in Sri Lanka.

Sleuths of the Commissioner’s Task Force, North Zone Team, Hyderabad, along with local police raided separate premises under the Abids and Kulsumpura police stations yesterday, a police release said.

The statement also said that betting activity including the tri-series was going on. Further, according to the release, police seized Rs 7.72 lakh, two TV sets, two set-top boxes, ten cell phones and one calculator.

Meanwhile, Bangladesh were on the verge of victory, before Dinesh Karthik’s blistering cameo took the game away from them. India defeated the Tigers by four wickets in a heart-racing thriller.

Batting first Bangladesh posted 166 on the board With Sabbir Rahman coming to the party. Mahmudullah and Mehidy Hasan provided some support at the end.

Further, a last-ball six off Soumya Sarkar completed the win for Rohit Sharma and Co.
