Gautam Gambhir Congratulates Virushka on their Marriage

After several days of speculation surrounding the marriage of India’s wonder boy Virat Kohli and Bollywood actress Anushka Sharma, the adorable couple has finally tied the knot in a private ceremony at Italy yesterday morning. It happened to be a very close-knit affair which was attended by close family and friends of both Virat and Anushka. The couple was looking gorgeous in their wedding avatar and was seen smiling at each other.

Out of favour Indian batsman, Gautam Gambhir who happens to be Kohli’s hometown mate congratulated the couple on tying the knot. Taking to his twitter handle, Gambhir wrote, ‘My best wishes @imVkohli n @AnushkaSharma on tying the knot. God bless u both with all d happiness, health and peace…hugs #v”.

Gambhir and Virat haven’t been the best of friends despite being from the same city as they both carry a similar sort of an attitude. The duo was involved in a severe altercation during an IPL match three years ago after the dismissal of Virat Kohli in a group match against the Kolkata Knight Riders. Gambhir also revealed in a chat show very recently that both coming from Delhi has made them aggressive and it is the attitude which comes naturally to them.

Barring the controversies, the duo has also been involved in quite a few memorable partnerships. It was the 2011 World Cup final when the duo shared an invaluable partnership for the 4^th wicket when India had lost the prized wickets of Sachin Tendulkar and Virender Sehwag. Though Kohli made only 35 but the innings at that particular point made sure that India recovered from the early woes and was looked in complete control of proceedings.

Meanwhile coming back to Virat and Anushka, the speculations of their marriage started doing the rounds when Virat opted to sit out of the limited-overs series against Sri Lanka. It was also learnt that the Lucknow girl Devika Narain who planned and designed their wedding knew four months in advance of their marriage but had to keep it a secret as it was a part of her assignment.
