Mumbai Indians’ paceman Jasprit Bumrah keeps raising the bar of his performances every year, playing a significant role in his franchise’s dominance. Jasprit Bumrah is part of Mumbai Indians’ bowling attack that includes Trent Boult and both of them have formed a formidable combination. Former Indian opener Gautam Gambhir has underlined why the 26-year old has been so effective.
With 27 wickets in IPL 2020, Jasprit Bumrah’s tally is second only to Kagiso Rabada’s 29 as the pair will fight it off in the final to bag the purple cap. Bumrah’s 27 wickets in 14 fixtures have come at an average of 13.93 and an economy rate of 6.71. He blew away the Delhi Capitals in the first qualifier with figures of 4-1-14-4 and will look to replicate it in the final in Dubai as Mumbai Indians chase a record fifth title.
“The opposition has been trying to see him off, but he’s just too good a bowler to actually knock them off. If you look at Stoinis and Shikhar Dhawan’s dismissals in the last game, they were just beaten by absolute beauties. So, even if you try and play him off, but just like Rashid Khan, he would beat you on the defence, he would beat you on the outside edge. He will beat you on the inside edge. So, you have to pick him,” Gambhir told ESPN Cricinfo.
Gautam Gambhir says one should have a solid technique to survive Jasprit Bumrah:

The former Kolkata Knight Riders captain feels that batsmen need to have the technique to excel against Jasprit Bumrah. Gambhir hailed the Ahmedabad-born speedster, highlighting that his quality is enough to beat the defences of batsmen, similar to that of Jofra Archer.
“You have to actually have the technique good enough to survive. A good ball, in any format, is a good bowl. So, even if you try to play him out, he has that much quality to get you out on your defence. It is exactly like Jofra Archer as well,” he added.
