Adam Gilchrist Congratulates Rashid Khan after the Latter Becomes Top Ranked Bowler

Afghanistan leggie Rashid Khan became the youngest cricketer in the history of the game – to dominate any form of the ICC Rankings. The teenage sensation has been a star performer for the Asian minnows. His contributions have been instrumental in Afghanistan gaining Test status. They are all set to play their maiden Test against India, later this year.

When Rashid reached the top of the ladder, he also became the first associate player to achieve the feat. There has been no doubt about the fact that Rashid has been someone very very special. He has bamboozled star-studded batsmen on a consistent basis.

However, there have been speculations in the past surrounding his age.

Many people have questioned the authenticity of his age. You cannot deny the fact that Rashid doesn’t look like a teenager under any stress of imagination. However, you cannot rule out this fact either.

He has several variations up his sleeve. Rashid bowls at an uncanny pace which makes life difficult for batsmen. The Afghan sensation boasts of an astonishing record in both formats of the game. He has been a wicket-taker for his nation. Rashid has always lived up to the expectations of his skipper on a regular basis. In the IPL mega-auction recently, he was retained by the Sunrisers Hyderabad for a whopping INR 9 crore.

Former Aussie great Adam Gilchrist, who redefined wicketkeeping role, congratulated Rashid on his achievement.

The news to him was broken by some of his fans and he obliged to congratulate the Afghan sensation.
