Perhaps, there would be no other Australian cricketer like Glenn Maxwell, who always had a roller-coaster ride in his international career. At one stage, he seems to be carrying the heavy burden of his side in the limited-overs format and the other case, selectors don’t even consider his name in the squad. Amidst all, Maxwell decided to avoid IPL 2019 to show his commitment to the red-ball cricket.

I still want to play Test cricket – Glenn Maxwell

Meanwhile, Glenn Maxwell has been brilliant in the T20I series against India. Probably, he would hold the key in ODI format as well, as he always got the brilliant average against the Indian national cricket team. Moreover, he wants to represent Australia in Test as well.

Glenn Maxwell, who got released by Delhi Daredevils for the upcoming edition of IPL, pulled himself out from the lucrative tournament. Though the analysts felt the decision was taken to be fit for the 2019 World Cup, Glenn clears the air by saying he is eyeing to get Test berth.

Maxwell quoted he is desperate to get back into the team. Further, Glenn believes he has got a lot of juice left in him to deliver the goods in Tests.

“This is a pretty clear sign I still want to play test cricket. To knock back a chance to play IPL was a big decision and a tough decision,” Maxwell told Melbourne’s Herald Sun newspaper on Wednesday.

”It’s not something you make lightly, but the thought of playing test cricket again still burns deep. I desperately want to get back out there and I still think I have a lot to offer the Australian test team,” he added.

Well, it would be interesting to see whether Glenn Maxwell would get the nod for Test format or not. Moreover, Maxwell always bagged a million-dollar deal whenever he got placed on the auction table.
