It seems like Australia’s swashbuckling player Glenn Maxwell is set to return to the game as quickly as possible. The all-rounder returned to his state team Victoria for a practice session. Notably, Maxwell stepped away from cricket, citing mental health issues. It was another major positive step from the all-rounder after playing for a local club.

Glenn Maxwell took the break while playing for Australia against Sri Lanka during the recently concluded 3-match T20I series. Surprisingly, he took the call after playing a brilliant knock in the first match of the series against Sri Lanka. However, Cricket Australia respected his decision and gave him a green signal to take the break from the game.
Recently, he played three Victorian Premier Cricket matches with club side Fitzroy Doncaster. He had taken part in some aspects of Victoria’s Shield program. On Thursday, the right-handed all-rounder participated in Victoria’s training session at the Melbourne Cricket Ground.

Speaking of the same, the Australian batsman Marcus Harris stated that Glenn Maxwell is pretty close to making a return to the game of cricket. He believes everything depends on the all-rounder, who will take the final call. Harris feels Maxwell might return for the upcoming Big Bash League.
“I think he is doing everything he needs to do … when he is ready to come back (he will),” teammate Marcus Harris said as per The Guardian. “I’m not sure if it is this week or Big Bash, but he’s not far away I think.”
“I think those sort of guys needs some space,” he said. “I think they’ve got everyone hounding them about what’s going on and what they’re doing. They are adults. Maxi has been really good, and all the guys dealing with stuff have been very good, and we just put our arm around them and support them,” he added.
