Vini Raman, wife of Australia batsman Glenn Maxwell, gave a befitting reply to a troll who came up with a vile racist comment on her latest Instagram post. In February this year, the Australia World Cup-winner got engaged with his long-time girlfriend.

Vini Raman, an Indian-origin girl based in Melbourne, and Maxwell have been dating for quite some time. Their photo as a couple first emerged on social media in 2017 before the two attended the Australian Cricket Awards in 2019. According to Vini Raman’s social media, she is a Melbourne-based pharmacist.

Coming to the latest incident, she took to Instagram to post an old picture of herself and Maxwell and wrote: “Spending another weekend in lockdown but wishing I was in the UAE. 4 weeks down, ? to go ?”

Maxwell is currently in UAE for the ongoing IPL 2020. The right-handed batsman is plying his trade for Kings XI Punjab. Several players have traveled to the gulf country with their partners but Maxwell has not. Along with some of his Australia teammates, Maxwell had to arrive in UAE directly from England following the bilateral series between the two nations.

Here is the post from Vini Raman:

Vini Raman shuts down troll:

While most of the comments were positive, one troll decided to come up with a racist comment. Taking a dig at Glenn Maxwell’s decision to take a break from the game last year due to mental issues, he wrote:

“Ditch the mentally troubled white boy @vini raman .. You don’t need to feel sorry for the poor dude.. Get an Indian guy you sell out.”

Vini Raman noticed the comment and decided to reply to it. She later posted a screenshot of the same on her Instagram story.

“Clearly fishing for a reaction so I’ll give it to you,” she wrote before adding:

“Unlike you I don’t see colour, I can love someone regardless of their nationality or ethnicity and that is completely my choice. I don’t have to base my life decisions on the opinion of a faceless random on the Internet and I surely don’t have to justify it. If you don’t like what you see keep scrolling champ.”

Later, Maxwell posted the screenshot on his story too, writing: “Proud of you @vini.raman. Some people are genuinely pathetic.”
