The Indian junior team has been in sensational form in the ICC U-19 World Cup held in New Zealand and annihilated arch-rivals Pakistan in the Semi-final by a huge margin of 203 runs to qualify for the final for the 6th time in the history of U-19 World Cups.

They will meet Australia in the final of the tournament, the same opponents whom they defeated in their first match by a huge margin of 100 runs.

Skipper, Prithvi Shaw and Shubham Gill have been in prolific run-scoring form all through the tournament and have got India off to flying starts on most occasions.

Skipper Prithvi Shaw has been the thorn in the flesh for most opponents while Shubham Gill has been pretty consistent scoring six fifties on a trot. The Men in Blue defeated Papua New Guinea in their 2nd encounter by ten wickets and yet again it was a thumping performance by the U-19 Stars.

Left-arm spinner Anukul Roy bagged a five-wicket haul and continued his prowess even in the final group encounter against Zimbabwe. It was a fascinating performance by the Men in Blue even all through the group stages, and they took their game to a whole new level in the knockouts beating Asian neighbours Bangladesh and Pakistan quite comprehensively.

There has been no match for the Indians in the tournament so far and are the firm favourites to lift yet another title. The side is full of exuberance, and tremendous perseverance, and most of the members in the team are future stars in the making. The pace bowling brigade including the likes of Shivam Nagarkoti and Shivam Mavi have constantly been clicking over 140-145 km/hr.

They have performed tremendously which makes India the firm favourites to win the final of the tournament.

Team India head coach, Ravi Shastri was ecstatic after India’s sensational performance and took to his Twitter handle to wish them all the best ahead of the all-important final against the Aussies.

“Go for it boys. Get stuck into the Aussies. Good luck.” He wrote.
