Asian Giants Pakistan is not having a great time in New Zealand. Despite some impressive performances by their bowlers, the batters have not risen to the occasion, and hence the Men in Green have not been able to register a victory in the first two matches against a relatively strong New Zealand side. The bounce which has been on offer for the New Zealand bowlers have not allowed the Pakistan batters to get settled down which has also been one of the major factors behind below par performance of Sarfaraz and Co said Pakistan batting coach Grant Flower.

“The guys have struggled with the bounce as they have been playing quite a bit in Pakistan and coming here was a bit of a shock to the system even though some of have played here before,” former Zimbabwe batsman and the current batting coach of Pakistan Grant Flower was quoted as saying by Pak Passion.

Touted as one of the best Zimbabwe players during his heydays along with his brother Andy, he was of the opinion that the Pakistan batters need to be quick on their feet in order to handle the pace and bounce.

As per reports the Pakistan team is undergoing special training by using slabs while batting in the nets in order to cope with the bouncy tracks on offer in New Zealand.

“Pakistan batsmen need quick feet to handle the bounce, we also have brought over a slab to practice against exaggerated bounce,” he said.

“The pitch here is not the bouncy from what I have seen before bit I am sure given the success the seamers have had against us so far, they will try and make it as bouncy as possible,” he added. With New Zealand leading the series 2-0, Pakistan would be aiming to shift the momentum of the series during the 3rd ODI slated to be played at the Oval on January 12.
