South African speedster Dale Steyn became the all-time leading wicket-taker for South Africa after he dismissed Fakhar Zaman in the opening Test against Pakistan. Soon after that, former England skipper Michael Vaughan applauded the veteran who surpasses Shaun Pollock’s tally of 421 Test wickets. He dismissed Zaman in the very first delivery of his fourth over of the first innings.
The 35-year old has played just six Tests in the last three years due to injury. Cricket South Africa felicitated the 35-year-old fast bowler during the lunch of day one of the Boxing Day Test.

Moreover, Dale Steyn has picked 422 wickets while playing his 89th Test appearances. On the other hand, Pollock took 421 wickets in 108 test matches which he achieved ten years ago in 2008. He played his last Test match in the Durban against the Windies in 2008 and in the same test he completed 421 wickets. But now Steyn has broken Pollock’s record of the most wickets in Test. He also 26 five-wicket haul and ten wickets in five matches in his tally.
The former English cricketer Michael Vaughan showered praise on Dale Steyn for his excellent achievement. He also recalled Steyn’s debut Test in 20014 when the young pacer castled Vaughan’s stump.
“The man who flattened my Off Stump with his 1st Test wicket is now the leading wicket taker in SA Test History … Well done @DaleSteyn62 … Great bowler & top man … #Steyn” Michael Vaughan tweeted in his account.
