Team India will begin their campaign in the new year when they host Sri Lanka for a three-match Twenty20 Internationals starting from January 5 (Sunday). Meanwhile, with the political unrest in Assam, there were doubts about the match, but the Assam Cricket Association has confirmed that the game will go as per the schedule.
The Men in Blues ended 2019 swiftly with crushing West Indies in the ODI series. They were 0-1 down in the three-match series but won two consecutive games to seal the series 2-1 to finish the year on a high. The series will witness Jasprit Bumrah, and Shikhar Dhawan return to the squad after recovering from injuries.

Bumrah has missed most of the home season with injury while Dhawan missed the series against West Indies after suffering a knee injury. The series will witness the return of these two cricketers while the national selectors have rested senior cricketers Rohit Sharma and Mohammed Shami. Both of them will make a comeback when India lock horns with Australia after the series against Sri Lanka.
