In a cricket-obsessed country like India, the game is followed like a religion and cricketers are worshipped as gods. The fans don’t hesitate to go out of their limits to support their favourite stars. Like Sudhir Gautam for Sachin Tendulkar and Sarvanan Hari for MS Dhoni, all-rounder Hardik Pandya has also got a dedicated fan in Mugunthan.

The young fan, who is a native of Coimbatore has tattooed Pandya’s name in 16 different languages. He has stood behind Hardik Pandya during his bad times and went bald when the all-rounder came under the scanner for his misogynistic comments. Mugunthan also prayed for his return to the national team.

Apart from his on-field antics, Pandya has also emerged as a style icon for the youth. He comes up with various hairstyles and Mugunthan rushes to the salon to copy him as soon as possible. Like Sudhir and Sarvanan, Mugunathan also travels across the country to watch Hardik Pandya play.

Meanwhile, during his journey to Dharamsala for the first T20I against South Africa, Mugunthan met an accident. He decided to take a 3000km journey via road, all the way from Coimbatore to Dharamsala, to watch his god play for the first time after the World Cup.

During his journey, Mugunthan met with an accident near Jabalpur. He was first taken to a local government hospital and then to a private nursing home where the doctors advised for a surgery. A report in Times Now suggests that the news moved Hardik Pandya to the core.

He immediately decided to do his part and paid all the expenses related to his medical treatment. Mugunthan finally returned to Coimbatore on September 21 after undergoing the surgery. He is currently recovering thanks to Hardik Pandya and his proactive effort.

Meanwhile, Pandya after having an average outing in the T20Is will look to come out stronger in the next series against Bangladesh. He is not a part of the three-match Test series against South Africa starting from October 2.
