India’s all-rounder Hardik Pandya talked about the criticism of former legendary West Indies fast bowler Michael Holding and India’s Little Master Sunil Gavaskar. Both of these former legends of the game believes Hardik Pandya is not a Test all-rounder yet. In fact, there is no denying the fact Hardik Pandya is still a work in progress in the red ball version of the game.

Pandya still has a lot to improve in Test cricket. The right-hander had shown his stomach for the fight with the bat. However, he still needs to tick the right boxes with his bowling.

Pandya can be inconsistent with his line and length and thus has failed to reap fruits. However, he was able to scalp a five-wicket haul in the third Test match at Trent Bridge.

Meanwhile, Hardik Pandya said it doesn’t hurt when the former greats don’t consider him a good Test all-rounder. He said he respects the opinions of Michael Holding and Sunil Gavaskar. The Baroda all-rounder considers himself worthy enough as the former players are talking about him.

“No, sir. Why would it hurt? They’ve played so much cricket. Let them say it. It’s OK. I’ve heard them so much. I respect that. I’m worthy enough that they’re talking about me. If I wasn’t, they wouldn’t have said anything about me! I take it in a positive way,” Hardik Pandya said while talking to Times of India.

However, the all-rounder is being well backed up by the team management. Therefore, he is getting his opportunities and needs to deliver the goods. Meanwhile, Hardik Pandya is currently recuperating from acute back injury. He had suffered a blow in the match against Pakistan in the Asia Cup.
