It seems like stars are once again aligning in line for the 33-year-old Peter Siddle. He recently got the call-up for the ongoing Test series against Pakistan, and now, he once again got the call to join the T20I squad as well. However, Siddle will be the cover-up for Mitchell Starc, who is struggling with tightness in his hamstring.

So far, Peter Siddle has represented Australia on only two occasions as far as T20I format is concerned. However, it seems like he got the chance to add a few more numbers in his tally after receiving the call-up.

Most Probably, Australia will look to rest Mitchell Starc, especially, with the home series against India on its way. And also, with the 2019 World Cup around the corner, the board would like to give him the rest as much as possible.

Meanwhile, Mitchell Starc experienced tightness in his hamstring and didn’t hold the ball for Australia on day two in the ongoing Test match. However, the newbie, Aaron Finch revealed Starc is fit enough to get back to the track as quickly as possible.

“It’s just a bit of management of Mitch,” Aaron Finch said at the end of day’s play. “Obviously the conditions are pretty hot, so trying to look after the fast bowler. As far as I know, he is (okay). He bowled with enough pace today.”

Peter Siddle impressed in Big Bash League:

Siddle has been looked as the red-ball specialist. However, surprisingly, after his heroics in the Big Bash League for Adelaide Strikers, the respective board started considering him for the limited-overs format as well.

All in all, it would be interesting to see how the veteran pacer will take the challenge in the shorter version of the game. Meanwhile, it is important for Australia to get back the services of Mitchell Starc.
