Former India cricketer-turned-commentator Aakash Chopra is in business as usual with his analysis ahead of the IPL 2020. Aakash Chopra believes that the most valuable player in IPL 2020 has to be an all-rounder who can contribute with the bat and ball. Hardik Pandya and Andre Russell were the front runners for him.

However, he went ahead with Mumbai Indians’ Hardik Pandya to emerge as the most valuable for IPL 2020. Chopra, explaining his reason, said that it will be the case as Hardik Pandya is coming back from an injury and he will be itching to get among runs.

“It is going to be a herculean task to pick the most valuable player of the tournament before it has started. Most Valuable Player has to be a bit of an all-rounder, who does two things for you. In that list, you can think about Hardik Pandya, Andre Russell, I am split, I really don’t have an answer on this one.”

“I will go with Hardik Pandya as the Most Valuable Player for IPL 2020, let’s see. Because it will be a race between Hardik and Andre Russell, Hardik is coming back from an injury but I still want to put my money on him because I like this player a lot,” Aakash Chopra said on his YouTube channel.

Premier India all-rounder Hardik Pandya missed out on the latter part of international action in 2019 due to back injury. He also went under the knife during the period and subsequently underwent rehabilitation period. Hardik Pandya, however, has recovered and trained himself to make a comeback in competitive cricket with the IPL 2020.

Hardik has been a vital cog in the Mumbai Indians set-up. He will be raring to go in the IPL 2020 after missing out on action for a long period of time. It was his prolific run for the Mumbai Indians during the inaugural years which worked as a ladder for his national team selection. He has also grown in his stature ever since.
