Dinesh Karthik stole the limelight in the final of the Nidahas Trophy by hitting a six on the final delivery of the game.

India needed five runs to win and Karthik sealed a win by hitting the boundary.

Harsha Bhogle, voice of Indian cricket, aptly summarised India’s win over Bangladesh as he wrote –

Karthik was demoted in the batting order today and was sent at number seven, next to Vijay Shankar.

At the time of his arrival to the crease, India needed 34 off 12.

Karthik opened up with a six, followed by a four and a six again.

He ended the over with a six as well to garner 22 runs from the over.

India needed 12 runs in the final over and he just faced two of the six deliveries bowled.

One of them was the final delivery of the game, where he hit a six to finish of the game in style.

Surely, with this innings, he has sort of put his case as the finisher for Indian cricket team.

MS Dhoni used to perform the job earlier but from past couple of years, he has failed to complete the task.

Karthik, with his superlative show today, has put Dhoni under some sort of pressure and the results of it will be shown when India play Ireland and England in T20I series.
