Harsha Bhogle Explains Why MS Dhoni's Ouster from T20I Side Isn't Such a Bad Thing

Famous commentator Harsha Bhogle shed light on the ouster of MS Dhoni from the T20I side. Bhogle believes that it isn???t a bad thing to leave out MS Dhoni from the shortest version. In fact, MS Dhoni hasn???t been in the best of forms in the recent past. Meanwhile, MS Dhoni has always a king of ODI cricket. However, he hasn???t delivered the same performance in the T20I version.
Dhoni has only scored two fifties in the shortest format of the game in the 80 innings he has played. Though, it should also be noted that Dhoni always bats in the lower order and there are only twenty overs in the T20I game. Dhoni could not find his place for the T20I series against the Windies as well as the Australia tour.
Meanwhile, selectors went with two wicketkeepers for the T20I series against Windies and Australia. MSK Prasad led panel has included Rishabh Pant and Dinesh Karthik in the T20I squad.
In fact, this is the first time that MS Dhoni is dropped from the Indian squad. Dhoni has done a fine job over the years for the Indian team. However, his recent performances have put a question mark on his place.
On the other hand, there is no T20 World Cup until 2020. Therefore, selectors want to try out young players in the shortest format of the game. Meanwhile, MS Dhoni took a fine catch of Chandrapaul Hemraj while running back in the ongoing third ODI against the Windies.
Harsha Bhogle took to Twitter to share his thoughts. The post read as, ???The big news is obviously the absence of MS Dhoni from the T20 squad. The next World T20 isn???t till 2020 so this is an acknowledgment that someone else will be behind the stumps there???.
One more tweet read as, ???It isn???t such a bad thing. Dhoni???s favorite genre had always been the ODI and he will continue there till 2019 post which I expect him to take a call on his future. I am pretty certain he would have been part of this decision???.
Bhogle further added, ???My only concern with Dhoni is that he isn???t getting, or maybe isn???t too keen to get, game time between ODI matches. But he will have the Australia/NZ and home ODIs + the IPL before the World Cup???.
