Krunal Pandya and Deepak Chahar have received their maiden international call-ups for the T20I series against England and will be eager to seize their opportunity.
They have replaced the likes of Jasprit Bumrah and Washington Sundar. Bumrah fractured his finger during the 1stnd T20I against Ireland. Meanwhile, Washington Sundar suffered an ankle injury during a practice session ahead of the two-match T20I series against Ireland.
Both Deepak Chahar and Krunal Pandya were part of India A squad who stormed their way to the final of the tri-nation series after thrashing Windies A by 203 runs. Chahar was an integral part of the Chennai Super Kings squad which won the Indian Premier League this year.
He bagged eight wickets and troubled many star batsmen on a consistent basis. He swung the ball quite prodigiously and let the pitch do the rest. Kane Williamson was disturbed quite a lot and fell to him on both the occasions.

Krunal has been an integral part of the Mumbai Indians
Meanwhile coming to Krunal, he had been an asset for the Mumbai Indians over the last three years. The left-arm spinner and an able left-handed batsman, Krunal has been one of the most valuable players in the franchise.
Pandya has been a special bowler and had bagged the wicket of AB de Villiers on all the four occasions he had faced him. He had controlled the game quite well in the middle-overs, and his batting prowess was also superb.
The southpaw played a match-winning innings in the final of the 2017 edition of IPL. After batting first, Mumbai posted a score of 130 which was largely built around a superb knock from Krunal Pandya. An India call-up was always on the cards. His brother Hardik will be pretty happy to share the dressing room with him even.
Famous commentator and sports panellist, Harsha Bhogle stated Krunal Pandya’s credentials would help India have the ideal balance.
“India’s ODI team needs another all-rounder, someone who can bat at 7 and offer a few overs. I thought Krunal Pandya had the credentials,” Harsha said.
