South Africa spearhead Kagiso Rabada took a sly dig at the International Cricket Council, courtesy his latest tweet on the micro-blogging platform. At 24, Rabada is one of the most successful pacers in the current cricketing circuit. He has 43 Test caps to his name and has picked 197 wickets.

He was handed a demerit point and fined a hefty amount for getting too close to England skipper Joe Root while celebrating the latter’s wicket in the third Test match St George’s Park. Having accumulated four demerit points in a span of two years, the cricketer was suspended for a match. It didn’t help the Proteas as the hosts were humiliated yet again as they lost the series to England by a 3-1 margin.

The cricketing world was divided on Rabada’s ban. While many questioned the harshness of the call, others justified the same. This isn’t the first time that Rabada had breached the ICC code of conduct. Back in 2017, he was suspended from playing the second Test against England for his aggressive send-off to Ben Stokes. However, South Africa won that game convincingly.

He violated Article 2.5 of the code, which relates to “using language, actions or gestures which disparage or which could provoke an aggressive reaction from a batter upon his or her dismissal during an international match, on more occasions than one.
The young pacer joined the viral Dolly Parton Challenge and shared four different versions of himself across different platforms. Interestingly, the thing common in the majority of the frames was his infamous celebration at the fall of Root’s wicket. It made people talk about his response to ICC’s latest call. Clearly, Rabada doesn’t lack a funny bone and knows how to express himself and getaway at the same time.
