While the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) decides on the amount of punishment for Hardik Pandya and KL Rahul for the sexist and misogynistic comments on the show Koffee With Karan, online streaming site Hotstar has decided to take down the episode and it is no more for public viewing.

Meanwhile, Pandya’s made many sexist and misogynistic comments which drew a lot of flak from all corners. While Pandya apologised for his comments on Wednesday, the CoA still decided to issue the two cricketers a show-cause notice and gave them 24 hours to explain themselves. However, on Wednesday, Hardik responded saying that he was sincerely regretful for the controversial remarks.

I made an appearance on the chat show where I have made certain statements without realising that these could be disrespectful and offend sensitivities of viewers for which I am sincerely regretful,” he wrote in his response, which is in PTI’s possession.

I would like to assure you that there was no malice or any sort of ill-intent on my part to offend anyone or portray any section of the society in bad light. The statements came out in the flow of the show and had not comprehended the extent to which my statements would be found offensive,” he added.

However, Vinod Rai told PTI that Hardik Pandya’s reply was not satisfactory and he has recommended for a two-match ban.

I have recommended a two-match ban for both players. However, the final decision will be taken once Diana gives her go ahead,” Rai said.

Both Hardik Pandya and KL Rahul are currently with the Indian side in Australia and will feature in the three-match ODI series starting from January 12.
