If there could be any cricketer in Indian Domestic Cricket, who deserve a call-up, Jalaj Saxena will be the first name on the list. The flamboyant cricketer has been performing since his domestic debut and has always been in the best of forms to deliver the goods. Yet, he never got the enough recognition or chance to represent India in any format of the game and not even in the Indian Premier League.

Recently, a frustrated cricketer Sheldon Jackson tweeted an article on how Jalaj Saxena, the all-rounder from Madhya Pradesh who now plays for Kerala, has been ignored by selectors. Jalaj Saxena, himself, questioned BCCI on Twitter, asking on what basis he was ignored despite collecting the best all-rounder of the year award.

Jalaj Saxena is one of those consistent performers in the Indian domestic cricket, who is waiting for his chance to play for the Indian National Cricket Team. Despite not being considered for the senior team, Jalaj Saxena has kept on improving his numbers for the team.

I Need One chance to prove – Jalaj Saxena

So far, he warmed the bench for Mumbai Indians, Royal Challengers Bangalore, and Delhi Capitals, but is yet to receive his first cap in the cash-rich league – a platform which has made careers of so many talents. Speaking of the same, Jalaj Saxena asks one chance to prove his mettle.

“I am working hard, working in each and every aspect of my game. I need one chance to prove my self, be it the IPL or international circuit. And, I am just waiting for my chance, I haven’t gotten a single chance in IPL so far. Hopefully, I will get my chances and I am waiting for that,” the all-rounder says.

“I was scoring runs and picking wickets for Madhya Pradesh. But I felt if I move to a smaller team (Kerala) and perform there and take them to elite level then I would be noticed more and get the much-needed recognition. Kerala being a smaller team if they achieve something big with me performing good I would get the recognition, so that was the main reason and I took some risks to get the recognition,” Jalaj said.

In the next assignment, Jalaj will be taking the field once again, this time for India C in the Deodhar Trophy 2019, in a bid to prove his credentials for the Indian senior team once again. So far, he played in 115 first-class, 90 List-A and 48 T20 matches.
