Afghanistan’s sensation Rashid Khan has over 80 T20 wickets across the top T20 leagues around the world. His beauty of a delivery to AB de Villiers recently is one of his 30 wickets in the Indian Premier League. Rashid’s googly outfoxed the South African great and turned out to be the turning point in the match.
AB, whose side is now at the second last position in the points table, with just three wins from 10 games, said that he is in good form.”No I am batting very well. I am very very happy. Rashid got me out previously. We haven’t played a lot against each other but he bowled well and he’s a very good bowler. I have a lot of respect for him,” said De Villiers, who was currently in the city of Mumbai to launch a new collection of Mont Blanc pens.
The Virat Kohli-led side are very much out the contention of making it to the playoffs and the veteran Proteas player feels his side hasn’t played good cricket in this year’s T20 league. “No we haven’t played well. It’s been very disappointing but four games are left and I would love to not live in the past much and focus on what’s coming that is Delhi (against Delhi Daredevils), so we need to win that game and hopefully have a bit of our run by the end of the season,” he added.
Rashid back at his best
Rashid was taken for a leather hunt by Chris Gayle and Suresh Raina respectively. The southpaws smashed him out of the park quite convincingly but the spinner fought back in style. “I had bowled too full, and the coaches also saw it, but they said it was nothing to worry about. They said that the only problem was that I had bowled too full and the batsmen had connected the shots well. So I was advised that if I bowled back of a length, batsmen will find it hard to attack me.” the Sunrisers’ spinner said on the recent success.
