The last few games have been pretty ordinary for Ambati Rayudu before the final ODI of the series against New Zealand. He was even removed from the playing XI but given chance in Kiwis series. Unfortunately, he received flak for his performance in the initial four games. However, he answered all the critics with a match-winning knock at Wellington. Meanwhile, the former skipper Sourav Ganguly hails the brilliance of Rayudu.
Ambati Rayudu proved that he belongs to International cricket, especially, in the number 4 slot. The flamboyant batsman played with great composure to make things fall in place for the Indian team in the final ODI of the series.
Ambati Rayudu played well – Sourav Ganguly
Meanwhile, Sourav Ganguly, who wasn’t satisfied with Rayudu in the middle, has finally given the nod to Rayudu for his scintillating knock against Kiwis. Now, he believes that Ambati Rayudu will be on the plane to travel to England for the ICC World Cup 2019.

“Rayudu played well. He fizzled out in the middle but has played well overall and I think he will go to the WC and he will play in India after this and he will score runs and go to the WC. This is a settled team and the 14-15 core of the team is settled and I hope all these players are fit come to the World Cup and this team will be a strong team,” he said.
Hardik Pandya is a great player in this format – Sourav Ganguly
Further, the stylish southpaw quoted that the Baroda cricketer Hardik Pandya is the best suit for the Indian team in the 50-over format. He believes that Hardik will do the job for the team, especially, during the crunch situations of the game.
”Hardik Pandya is a great player in this format. The impact he has on the game with the bat and the ball is great. There is a changing in his body language and I have said before that people make mistakes and we should all move on from it,” Sourav Ganguly quoted.

”Along with Rayudu, Pandya has been a game changer in the match. Making 250 from 22/4 is great. I feel Ambati Rayudu played with responsibility and it will give him confidence and Pandya played really well as well,” he inferred.
Well, it seems like the former skipper of India Sourav Ganguly is pretty pleased with the current crop of cricketers ahead of ICC World Cup 2019. Adding Jasprit Bumrah to the team, India looks pretty solid on the paper.
