It was a dream come true for the Karnataka batsman Mayank Agarwal when he got selected into the Indian World Cup squad. Agarwal had made the cut into the World Cup squad after Vijay Shankar was ruled out with the toe injury. The right-hander had done a sublime job in the domestic circuit and he was able to finally reap fruits for the same.

Meanwhile, Mayank Agarwal didn’t get a chance to play any matches in the World Cup. However, Agarwal said that he would always cherish the memories of being in the World Cup squad. Agarwal has been a consistent performer in the domestic circuit and he has done a fine job.

Mayank Agarwal has scored huge runs in the domestic circuit.

The right-hander now has his focus on the upcoming Carribean tour. The Karnataka batsman will aim to deliver the goods against the West Indies.

“Being part of the ODI team and getting the experience of being at the World Cup was a memory to treasure for me. There was a lot to learn from and good that I managed to spend some time with them,” Agarwal told CricketNext.

Meanwhile, Agarwal was able to hit the ground running on the tour of Australia. The right-hander had scored 195 runs in the two-Test matches and had shown that he belongs to the topmost level of the game. Agarwal said he learned a lot from the tour Down Under.

“There was a lot to learn from Australia and I have incorporated that into my game. I am practising and training every day, preparing for the West Indies as it is going to be my first Test trip to the West Indies,” Agarwal said.

Mayank Agarwal has scored a truckload of runs in the domestic circuit and he deserved his opportunity to play in all the three forms for India. However, he didn’t get a chance in the limited-overs team for the series against West Indies. But the right-hander will like to continue his good form going in the two-Test matches against the Windies. The first Test match will take place on 24th August.
