I Would Even Play an 80-year Old MS Dhoni in My Team - AB de Villiers

Former South African talisman batsman AB de Villiers said he would even play an 80-year old MS Dhoni in his team. In fact, de Villiers said he won’t mind playing MS Dhoni even if he is on a wheelchair. The former Proteas captain said MS Dhoni records speak for himself and he is not going to a drop a big player like him. Meanwhile, MS Dhoni’s form has been under the scanner in the recent past.

Dhoni hasn’t scored his runs freely and has failed to rotate the strike. Thus, Dhoni’s strike rate has dropped down considerably. Furthermore, Dhoni has not able to hit the ground running especially against the spinners. Therefore, Dhoni’s place has been questioned in the recent past.

However, there is no impact on wicketkeeping skills of Dhoni. The former Indian skipper is doing a great job while standing behind the wickets. Moreover, Dhoni’s experience is of great use for the team. He is guiding the youngsters and knows how a particular batsman should be attacked.

Former South African linchpin AB de Villiers said he will play MS Dhoni on all days of the year. Thus, de Villiers thinks dropping Dhoni is not an option for him.

AB de Villiers said while talking to ANI, “I would play MS Dhoni in my team every day of every year. He can be 80,in a wheelchair he can play for my team. He’s fantastic, look at his record, You want to drop a guy like that? You can go ahead by all means, well I won’t”.

Dhoni has been instrumental in the success of the team over the years. However, his current form is a cause of concern for the team. Dhoni will like to play with all the freedom, but there is no denying the fact that his power-hitting capabilities are on the wane.
