ICC ODI Rankings: Jonny Bairstow Moves Into Top Ten, Virat-Rohit Continue To Occupy Top Two Spots

England opener Jonny Bairstow has moved into the the top ten of latest ICC ODI Players Rankings for batsmen after impressing in the just-concluded series against Australia. The right-handed batsman scored a fine century, scoring 112 to return to the top ten as well as finish the three-match series as the highest run-scorer with 196 runs.
The previous best for the 30-year-old was ninth position in October 2018. He is now within 23 points of his career-best rating points of 777. Apart from him, Australian duo Glenn Maxwell and Alex Carey have also moved up after scoring centuries in the game.
Maxwell has gained five places to take joint 26th position along with Paul Stirling of Ireland after scoring 186 runs in the series, while Carey is at 28th spot after scoring his first ODI ton.

Others to move up in the list include Australia’s Marnus Labuschagne (up 20 places to a career-best 63rd) and Sam Billings of England, who scored 118 in the first match to finish with 183 runs in the series. Billings has broken into the top hundred for the first time.
India skipper Virat Kohli continues to sit at the top followed by his deputy Rohit Sharma. Babar Azam, Ross Taylor and Faf du Plessis complete the top five. No other Indian features in the top ten.
Bowlers’ ranking:
Among bowlers, England allrounder Chris Woakes has gained big, jumping three places to a career-best fourth position after finishing with six wickets in the series. He is now second in the list of all-rounders after also scoring 89 runs in the series. Afghanistan’s Mohammad Nabi is currently the top-ranked allrounder.
Woakes’ teammate Jofra Archer has also attained a career-best rank. The Barbados-born allrounder has gained 18 slots to reach to 10th place after finishing with seven wickets in the series.

Australia star Josh Hazlewood has returned to the top 10 for the first time in nearly two years. He finished the series with 4 wickets including the match-winning performance of 3 for 26 in the first match. He has moved up from 15th to eighth position.
