ICC U-19 World Cup 2018: Virat Kohli Salutes Young Indian Colts Post their Championship Win

The Indian U-19 team, led by 18-year old teenage prodigy Prithvi Shaw, managed to clinch the ICC U19 World Cup of 2018 held in New Zealand.
This is now India’s fourth World Cup title at the U19 level, apart from the two ODI World Cups and a solitary T20 World Cup.
Previously, the Indian team won the prestigious championship under the leadership of Mohammad Kaif, Unmukt Chand and current Indian all-format captain Virat Kohli. The modern great of the game of cricket felt the experience first hand during the tournament held in Kuala Lumpur back in 2008.
Through his vanquishments in the tournament a decade back, his professional career trampolined into a different level, and the run machine of Indian cricket never looked back ever since.

Therefore, understanding the importance of the championship, Kohli took time out to deliver a special message for the youngsters on Twitter by saying,
“What a win for the U19 boys, take it as a stepping stone; Long long way to go! Enjoy the moment! ?? @BCCI #U19CWC”.
Virat Kohli also posted a still from the post-match celebrations with the lads holding the tricoloured Indian flag with ‘Bharat army’ engraved on it.

During the series, the Indian bowling along with their top-order batting stood out, as teams succumbed under relentless pressure applied to them by the boys.
On the road to the finals, the Indian team defeated their opponents by a margin of ten wickets thrice to impose world dominance. Even in the finals, India stormed past Australia’s total with eight wickets in hand and almost 12 overs remaining.
Shubman Gill was adjudged as the man of the series for amassing 378 runs in the tournament, whereas, Manjot Kalra was awarded the man of the match for his flamboyant 101 off 102 balls in the all-important finals.
