The India batting pair of Jemimah Rodrigues and Smriti Mandhana moved up in the latest ICC Women’s T20I Rankings for batswomen. Though the India eves got blanked at the hands of New Zealand Women’s team in the T20Is, the duo of Mandhana and Rodrigues were among the gainers. The youngster, Jemimah Rodrigues scored 132 runs in three-match series while Smriti had hit 180 runs, the highest among all batswomen.
Mandhana shines on NZ tour; gain rating points
The left-handed opener scored 196 runs in the three-match ODIs and got awarded by becoming the no.1 batswoman in world cricket. A few days later, she ended up piling runs at will and climbed the ladder in the ICC Women’s T20I Rankings. Smriti scored two fifties, including 86 in the Hamilton T20I which India eves lost by two runs. Meanwhile, she rose four spots to sit in the sixth position. On the other end, Jemimah Rodrigues was India’s second highest run-scorer; rising four places to get placed second on the list.
For New Zealand, their highest run-scorer (153), Sophie Devine jumped three places from 11th to the eighth position. She, in the final match against India, scored 72 runs, helping her side inflict a whitewash on the Women in Blue. Not only her but also the White Ferns captain, Amy Satterthwaite’s 87 runs lifted her from the 23rd to the 17th spot.
In the ICC Women’s T20I Rankings for bowlers, India women’s spinner, Radha Yadav moved up eight places to the 10th spot, picking up four wickets. Meanwhile, Deepti Sharma is up five spots to no.14. For hosts, Lea Tahuhu has moved up five slots to 11th position.
All-rounder, Dottin stands tall on all-rounders’ list
As Windies won the three-match T20Is against Pakistan 2-1, their all-rounder, Deandra Dottin stood out as the star performer. Though she moved up two places to be at the third position in the batswomen rankings after scoring 158 runs in the series, the equation is different on the all-rounders’ list. As she also took three wickets, she rose in the bowlers’ chart to the 29th position. However, the complete performance saw her leading the all-rounders’ list.
