Bangladesh and Sri Lanka will face off each other in the 16th match of the ongoing ICC World Cup 2019. The Tigers who had began their World Cup campaign on a high against South Africa, have lost their last two matches. Thus, Mashrafe Mortaza-led side will aim to turn the tables in their favour against Sri Lanka. We take a look at the Match Prediction between Bangladesh and Sri Lanka.

On the other hand, Sri Lanka’s last match against Pakistan was called off due to rain. Meanwhile, Sri Lanka had got off to a horrible start as they lost their opening match against New Zealand by 10 wickets. The Island nation was bundled out for a paltry score of 136 runs.

Bangladesh will start as favourites.

However, Sri Lanka was able to bounce back stronger against Afghanistan as they won by 34 runs (DLS method). In fact, Sri Lanka will need to pull up their socks in the batting department. They were skittled out for 201 runs against the Afghan team and would need to come up with a better show. It was the efforts of Nuwan Pradeep and Lasith Malinga that had rescued Sri Lanka from troubled waters as they scalped four and three wickets respectively.

However, one major blow for Sri Lanka is the unavailability of Nuwan Pradeep. The fast bowler who had impressed with his pace and bounce against Afghanistan dislocated his little finger while training on Sunday.

On the other hand, Bangladesh will like to get back into the contest after losing their previous two matches. Bangladesh will aim to come up with collective performance.

Bangladesh will begin the contest as favourites as they have come up with better performances. The Tigers will aim to be at the top of their game and they would be desperate for their second win after losing the last two matches. Meanwhile, Sri Lanka will need to come up with a better batting performance as their middle order is crumbling like a house of cards.
