Team India will be sporting an orange and blue jersey for their ICC World Cup 2019 match against England on June 30 (Sunday) at Edgbaston in Birmingham. Interestingly, this is the first time the Men in Blues will move away from their traditional blue colour cricket jersey.

Speaking about their recent performance, India have been thorough in the field so far in the World Cup. They have won five matches while one ended in a washout and is the only team to continue the unbeaten streak. Last night, they defeated West Indies by 125 runs to knock them out of the World Cup. Batting first, India posted 268 runs on the board with contributions from Virat Kohli, MS Dhoni, and Hardik Pandya. While many thought, West Indies would walk away with the game, Mohammed Shami led the bowling to steal a 125-run victory.

Meanwhile, speculation has been going rounds about the colour of India’s away jersey ever since ICC decided to do a home and away jersey for each team. Since both England and India don blue colour jerseys, India, according to International Cricket Council regulations, are going to wear their away kit.

Official sponsor Nike revealed that the away kit focuses on the dynamic movements and has all the modern facilities to make it comfortable for the fans.  Colour options were given to BCCI, and they chose the colour combination that looked the best to them. The whole idea is to be different from blue as England also wears the same shade of blue as India

“Similar to the recently launched ODI Kit, the away kit is designed to enhance dynamic movements and modern requirement of the sport and the athletes. While the new engineered mesh and strategically placed sweat zones help enhanced breathability for the team on the field, new placket construction, the flex crest, garment cut angles and slash taping all add to making the new jersey lighter, more breathable and helps the athletes be agile on the field,” the release added.
