Most likely India will take on hosts England at Edgbaston, Birmingham on 11 July in the second semifinal. India is going to finish at the second rank in the points table if Australia beats South Africa whereas England has secured their third place. In fact, this is the first match after 27 years when England have made their way into the semifinal of the World Cup.

England was able to register a massive win of 119 runs against New Zealand to book their semifinal berth. Subsequently, former England skipper Michael Vaughan was delighted after the team’s qualification. Vaughan said, ‘bring on India’, and he was trolled by Indian fans.

It is most likely going to India vs England.

The hosts England had to win two consecutive matches and they were under some pressure after losing two successive matches. England was able to come up with the complete performance as Eoin Morgan-led side defeated India by 31 runs. Hence, England was able to stand tall to the challenge and delivered the goods in the crunch situations.

England will also have a psychological advantage over India as they have already defeated them in the league match. In fact, England was stunned by Sri Lanka and then the World Cup was wide open. England had also faced defeat from Pakistan and Australia in the league stages.

On the other hand, India has ticked the right boxes and they have come up with complete performances thus far. England has been the only side which has defeated India. In fact, Michael Vaughan had earlier claimed that whichever team defeats India will go on to win the World Cup.

Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma have delivered the goods with bat. Furthermore, the Men in Blue have come up with collective bowling performance.

Michael Vaughan took to his Twitter to share his happiness. The post read as, “Great performance .. Strong mentality over the last few days .. Bring on #India in Birmingham .. #CWC19”.
