ICC World Cup 2019: Hardik Pandya is a Genuine Match Winner - Andrew Flintoff

The young all-rounder Hardik Pandya has been in outstanding form playing for the Mumbai Indians in the Indian Premier League (IPL). He has been one of the main reasons behind Mumbai sealing a final berth in the ongoing season. Meanwhile, this will give the young cricketer a massive boost ahead of the ICC World Cup 2019 and former English all-rounder Andre Flintoff believes Pandya will relish the conditions in England.

Hardik Pandya was not in a good frame of mind ahead of the start of the IPL. Marred with injuries and controversies, many thought Pandya’s performance graph would take a dip. But, he proved everybody wrong with an outstanding effort in the IPL. The Baroda all-rounder sustained a back injury during the Asia Cup and subsequently missed the series against Australia. He returned during the ODI series against only to get suspended for his lured comments on a talk show.

Pandya is a match-winner

After a brief period, he returned during the ODI series in New Zealand, only to suffer another injury to miss the next series against Australia at home. However, Hardik Pandya recovered well in time to be available in the IPL from the start. Andre Flintoff has heaped praise on the dynamic all-rounder calling him a genuine match-winner. Calling him underrated in World Cricket, Flintoff said he will be hoping Pandya to fire in England.

“Hardik is a genuine match winner. I think he’s quite underrated but has a cool head and is a guy you want in your team in a chase. Hopefully, we will see the best of him this summer.

Whilst it is all about the team it’s great to see strong characters standing out. I think he will relish the World Cup environment,” Flintoff said to Mirror.

Hardik Pandya recently said he will put all his efforts in the World Cup to make the debut campaign worth-remembering. India will begin their World Cup campaign on June 5 against South Africa at the Rose Bowl Cricket Ground.
