Former Indian National Cricket team skipper Sourav Ganguly has pinned Virat Kohli & Co as the favourites to lift the ICC World Cup when they showpiece event starts from May 30 in England and Wales.
Meanwhile, the men in blues have been in outstanding touch in the past one year. They have been dominant both in overseas and home condition beating South Africa, Australia and New Zealand in challenging situations. Their only glitch will be that they lost to England, who will host the pinnacle event cometh May. After a long stint in the southern hemisphere, Virat Kohli and his boys are currently preparing for the home series against Australia. India favourites at World Cup
Sourav Ganguly, who has led India to the World Cup final in 2003, believes his national side are in the best shape to lift the trophy. In addition to, the current CAB president also feels this is the best possible combination as they all have performed significantly over the last six-seven months.

“India are favourites, they have played good cricket for the last 6-7 months, they are very prepared for the World Cup,” Ganguly said on the sidelines of a program of HCL Foundation, the CSR arm of HCL Technologies.
“This is the best possible team, all of them have performed and that’s why they are in the squad,” he added.
The Indian management will have these five games to settle their middle order, which they have struggled with for the last one year. However, they will miss the service of all-rounder Hardik Pandya with a lower back strain. It will be a massive blow to their plans ahead of the World Cup.
Indian National Cricket team will start their campaign in England on June 5 against South Africa at Southampton.
