Former India National Cricket Team skipper Rahul Dravid believes India is favourites to win the forthcoming ICC World Cup 2019. India has all but every base covered and they would like to go all the way in the upcoming ODI showpiece. The Virat Kohli‘s team has been in good form in the recent past and would like to clinch their third World Cup title in the upcoming event.

The Wall is hopeful that Virat Kohli’s men will peak at the right time. India has been at his best in the recent past. They won the ODI series against Australia by 2-1. Furthermore, they continued their domination against New Zealand.

India has covered most of the bases.

Men in Blue was too good for the Kiwis as they won the first three matches convincingly. Thus, the tourists were able to tick the right boxes to take an impregnable lead of 3-0 in the series. However, India’s bleak middle order was exposed in the fourth ODI when they were bundled out for 92 runs.

Dravid, in interaction with PTI, said “I think India are playing very good cricket at the moment and go in as one of the favourites. Hopefully, we will peak in the next few months”.

Furthermore, Rahul Dravid believes the World Cup is going to be a run-fest in England. The pitches are going to be flat because of the weather and the batsmen would be licking their lips.

“Wickets will be very flat in England and I expect it to be quite a high-scoring World Cup. When we were in England with A team, 300 was regularly scored,” Dravid said.

India will like to sort out their middle order woes before the coveted tournament. The top three batsmen have done the bulk of the scoring and the middle order will like to be on their toes.

MS Dhoni has returned back to form which is a big boost. The fast bowlers are doing a great job and the spinners are providing the breakthroughs in the middle overs. Hence, India will like to be at their best in the upcoming ICC World Cup 2019.
