India pacer Jasprit Bumrah has been in scintillating form in the ongoing ICC World Cup 2019. He helped his escape a shocker against Afghanistan by setting it up before Mohammed Shami guided India to the victory. As the Men in Blues prepare for the West Indies clash, former Australia skipper Michael Clarke has heaped praise on Bumrah saying that he can win the World Cup final for his country.
Clarke heaps praise on Bumrah
Jasprit Bumrah had a good time leading to the World Cup. He won the IPL title with the Mumbai Indians and played a significant part in their fourth victorious campaign. The top-ranked ODI bowler continued with his excellent form in England and has been exceptional for India, especially at the death. So far, he has picked seven wickets from four matches at an economy rate of 4.92. Bumrah will look to improve his wickets tally when India take on West Indies on June 27 (Thursday).

Michael Clarke who led Australia to the 2015 World Cup title feels Jasprit Bumrah is a go-to bowler for any skipper. The young fast bowler is a match winner and has the capability to provide wickets whenever you hand over the ball to him.
As a captain, probably, you need someone like him (Bumrah) to throw the ball to when you need wickets. He can open the bowling, bowl that 35th over when nothing is happening or bowl those last four overs at the death, which can win India a World Cup final,” Clarke said to PTI.

Furthermore, Michael Clarke said there are only a few things that Jasprit Bumrah can’t do. With his variations and ability to bowl yorkers at 145kmph, Bumrah is a nightmare to opposition batters. Clarke hopes that Bumrah stays fit and fine and will play a significant role in India’s success in the World Cup.
“I think there is nothing that he (Bumrah) doesn’t have. He is fit and healthy. I hope he stays that way as he would play a big part in India’s success in this World Cup. With the brand new ball, he can swing and seam it. When the ball is doing nothing in the middle overs, he has the extra pace to trouble batsmen.
“He can bowl close to 150 clicks and then at the death, he bowls those yorkers as good as anyone else. And if there is reverse swing, he is a genius,” Clarke concluded.
