Pakistan Cricket Team have had a dismal ICC World Cup 2019 campaign so far. They are currently at the ninth spot with three points from five games including one win over England. Moreover, the recent loss against India have brought out the dressing room news and difference in opinion between a few senior cricketers. PCB chairman Ehsan Mani has urged skipper Sarfaraz Ahmed to focus on the remaining matches and give their best effort to win the games.

Meanwhile, the development comes after Sarfaraz Ahmed reportedly had warned his teammates of possible backlash back home if they fail to improve in the remaining matches in the ongoing World Cup. Pakistan suffered a humiliating loss against arch-rivals India on June 16 at the Old Trafford in Manchester. The Men in Blues completely outplayed Pakistan which have brought the differences between cricketers out in daylight.

“If God forbid something unfortunate happens then I won’t be the only one going back home,” the skipper had reportedly said.

However, as per reports in news.com.pk, Ehsan Mani has called Sarfaraz Ahmed personally and extended his support to the whole team. He also added that the entire country is rooting for them in the remaining matches, and they should only focus on improving their game. He also urged Sarfaraz not to buy an ear on the baseless media reports and lead the team to better outings.

Pakistan hang by the wire as they need to win all their remaining matches to give themselves a chance of making it to the semifinals. Next up, they face South Africa on June 23 at the Lord’s in London. They have to revamp their playing XI and put and better effort to beat the Proteas who are also struggling in this World Cup.
