Former legendary batsman Sachin Tendulkar has given a warning to the Indian team before their second World Cup clash against defending champions Australia. Tendulkar believes India will have the run for their money against the defending champions and they would need to be at the top of their game to beat a team like Australia.

On the other hand, the match is going to be played at the Kennington Oval, London which is known for its extra bounce. Thus, Sachin Tendulkar believes Australia will have its wood on the Indian team. Meanwhile, India had won their opening match against South Africa by six wickets and they would like to repeat the same performance.

Australian bowlers will get more help from Oval pitch.

In fact, India and Australia had taken on each other in the recent past in a bilateral series in Indian conditions. Australia had surprised India as they had won by 3-2 after coming from behind. Australia was 2-0 down and made a roaring comeback in the series.

“All the confidence you have gained from this game (vs South Africa), pack that in your kit back and get to your next game. Australians are going to be a tough team to handle because of the combination and confidence they have at the moment. But I feel Team India have the ammunition to go out and do what is required. But Australia at The Oval, it’s going to be a good game. The pitch has slightly spongy bounce and I think Australians are more used to that. Oval is one pitch where I feel there is a little bit of extra bounce which might favour Australia slightly,” Tendulkar told India Today.

Tendulkar believes Australia has a potent bowling attack but India has the skills to combat with their pace attack, which can be deadly on the Oval pitch.

It’s a potent Australian attack.

“The Australian attack is a good attack but Indian team is geared to play that attack. We have done well in the past against that bowling attack. Guys will be ready to face them,” Tendulkar added.

On the other hand, the Master Blaster believes Australia is a different side with the return of David Warner and Steven Smith. Sachin Tendulkar was impressed by both talisman batsmen in the Indian Premier League.

Smith and Warner are back with a bang.

“They are a different side (after Smith and Warner’s return). Whatever I saw of David Warner in the IPL, he looked extremely fit and above all he looked determined and motivated to go out there and get runs,” Tendulkar said.

Meanwhile, Australia had won their opening match against Afghanistan. The reigning champions is currently playing their second match against the Windies. India and Australia will take on each other on 9th June.
