South Africa will seek their maiden win of the ICC World Cup 2019 against the potent Indian side at Rose Bowl, Southampton. The Proteas have lost both their opening matches against England and Bangladesh. Thus, they would be determined to get on the board in the points table. We bring you the match prediction for the eighth match of the ICC World Cup 2019.

Furthermore, South Africa has dealt with a major blow as their experienced fast bowler Dale Steyn has been ruled out of the ongoing ODI showpiece. Subsequently, Beuran Hendricks has been named as the replacement and it would be interesting to note South Africa’s playing combination.

South Africa’s injury woes have manifolded.

Moreover, Lungi Ngidi has been ruled out for the clash against India. Ngidi had picked a hamstring injury against Bangladesh and had bowled only four overs.

On the other hand, India will play their opening match of the ongoing ICC World Cup 2019. India is considered as the red hot favourites for the tournament and they would aim to get off to a winning start in the World Cup.  In fact, India won’t mind taking on the beleaguered South African side. However, Virat Kohli’s men will not like to get complacent against the Proteas. Virat Kohli also confirmed that Kedar Jadhav is fit for the match.

Meanwhile, when both these teams had locked horns with each other when India had toured South Africa in early 2018, the former had come on top as they had won the series by 5-1. Thus, India will take more confidence going into this match, however, the World Cup is a different ball game altogether.

India will start the match as red hot favourites against South Africa. The Men in Blue has covered most of the bases and they would like to tick the right boxes in the opening match. India’s top three batsmen are going to hold the key whereas the bowlers will like to be right on the money in the first match of the World Cup.
