Bangladesh made a stunning comeback to restrict India to 314 runs after Rohit Sharma, and KL Rahul got India off to a flying start at Edgbaston in Birmingham. The Men in Blues once again failed to pounce on the death overs as MS Dhoni was unable to take on the Bangladesh bowlers. However, it was former India cricketer turned commentator Sanjay Manjrekar who was at the receiving end of the criticisms for his poor commentary.

Batting first, last match centurion Rohit Sharma once again got India off to an excellent start alongside KL Rahul. They added 180 runs for the first wicket which is also the highest first wicket partnership for India in the World Cups. Rohit took on the Bangladesh bowlers to bring his fourth World Cup century and in the process broke a handful of records. But the Tigers made an outstanding come back to bring down the free flow of run-rate.

Mustafizur Rahman led Bangladesh with the ball picking five wickets and restrict India to 314 runs. At one time, it looked like Virat Kohli & Co would post a 350+ score, but Mustafizur’s double strike in one over removing Kohli and Hardik Pandya had cut down the run-rate. MS Dhoni once again struggled to get going scoring only 35 runs off just 33 deliveries including four boundaries.
Meanwhile, it was Sanjay Manjrekar who was at the receiving end for his poor commentary during the match. While many muted the television screen during his commentary, others called Star Sports to ban the former cricketer from commentating further in the World Cup. Manjrekar over criticised the Indian players, especially MS Dhoni.

Sanjay manjrekar seems more happy seeing dhoni out than the players ?♂️ #BANvIND#WC19
Sanjay Manjrekar's ODI Career runs is 1994 and the number of fours hit by Dhoni in his ODI career is 825, which literally is 3300 runs. #INDvBAN

If Sanjay Manjrekar hhad spent even a fraction of the time he spends analyzing Dhoni’s batting to analyzing his commentary, life would have been so much better

#INDvBAN Sanjay Manjrekar is now But shouldn't be again, forever.. Retire immediately so that I could watch the match peacefully. Ganguly is the second worst followed by Overacting Bhogle.. it feels so great to watch games with overseas commentary of Doul, Bishop, Atherton etc pic.twitter.com/u3QLLAqtyX

I was watching the match with Hindi commentary, Akash Chopra was so irritating that I wanted to slap him. Changed to English commentary and here Sanjay Manjrekar is so irritating that Akash Chopra looks like an angel
Sanjay Manjrekar is the kind of guy who goes to kids birthday parties just to let them know that they're now a year closer to death. pic.twitter.com/oXwMTu6iS6
