Bangladesh posted a fighting score of 262 runs after Afghanistan skipper Gulbadin Naib won the toss and decided to bowl first. However, the Tigers could not get off to a good start as Liton Das who was promoted as an opener in place of Soumya Sarkar, scored only 16 runs. Das could not control his cover drive and gave the catch to short cover, Hasmatullah Shahidi.
There were doubts over the catch but the third umpire stuck with the soft signal of the on-field umpire. Tamim Iqbal looked good for his 36 as he took his time in the initial stages. However, the southpaw batsman was cleaned up by Mohammad Nabi.

Shakib Al Hasan continued his dream form going as he scored 51 runs and became the tournament’s leading run-getter. Furthermore, the left-hander also became the second player after Sanath Jayasuriya to complete 1000 runs and scalped more than 25 wickets in World Cup history.
Subsequently, Shakib Al Hasan and Mushfiqur Rahim added a fine alliance. Both the talisman batsman added 61 runs for the third wicket partnership. However, the southpaw batsman was plumbed in front by Mujeeb Ur Rahman.
Soumya Sarkar also was plumbed in front of the wickets by Mujeeb Ur Rahman. The left-hander could not pick the carrom ball and he was adjacent in front of the wickets.

Thus, Mujeeb Ur Rahman was the pick of the Afghanistan bowler as he scalped three wickets. Mohammad Nabi and Gulbadin Naib scalped one wicket apiece. Mahmuddullah scored 27 runs as he struggled with his hamstring injury.

Love watching Mujeeb bowl. So many variations, have to watch the ball out of his hand like a hawk.

The @BCCI middle order should watch & learn from the @BCBtigers on how to tackle quality spin… Rotate strike, find the gaps with 1's & 2's on a tough, slow pitch. #BANvAFG #ICCWC2019 #watchandlearn

Mushfiqur Rahim's innings is perfect lesson of how to play at No.4 on wicket which has something in it for bowlers. #BANvAFG #CWC19

Mujeeb is certainly a talent watch out for in the years to come. Bowled beautiful finger spin against India last Saturday and now repeats his performance against Bangladesh. Nobody has been able to pick his carrom ball.#RiseOfTheTigers #AfghanAtalan #BANvAFG #CWC19

Anyone knows why Daulat Zadran is wearing a shirt that says "DK" ? Can't seem to find what the "K" stands for. Or maybe he's just a massive fan of @DineshKarthik . Any idea @mohanstatsman #BANvAFG

Mushfiqur Rahim is a under-rated player in the world I think ? He always delivers for Bangladesh Team & he always contribute runs for his team in each & every match! #BANvAFG
