Australia posted a gargantuan score of 381 runs after their skipper Aaron Finch won the toss and decided to bat first. The Australian openers Aaron Finch and David Warner gave another solid start to their team. Finch and Warner added 121 runs for the opening wicket. In fact, Finch was once again the aggressor in the partnership whereas Warner played second fiddle.
Finch was able to time the ball to perfection and pierced the gaps. The Australian captain was quick to latch on to anything that was short and full from the Bangladesh bowlers. The right-hander Finch continued his dream form going as he scored a fine knock of 82 runs from 67 balls with the help of nine fours.
Warner was at his best.
However, Finch had a soft dismissal. Saumya Sarkar was able to generate steep bounce which took the outside edge to short third man.
On the other hand, David Warner took his initial time in the build-up to the innings as he has done throughout the tournament. In fact, Warner had the rub of the green on his side as he was dropped by Sabbir Rahman at the point position when he was only on 10 runs.
Consequently, the Tigers had to pay the price as Warner soon found his mojo. The left-hander completed his 16th ODI hundred and his second century of the World Cup. The southpaw batsman scored a fine knock of 166 runs off just 147 balls before Soumya Sarkar had another wicket to his name.
Meanwhile, Usman Khawaja who hasn’t been amongst the runs in the World Cup was able to get going from the word go. The southpaw batsman rotated the strike and was able to get the boundaries at the right time. Glenn Maxwell was once promoted to number four to provide the finishing touches. Marwell scored a quickfire knock of 32 runs from 10 balls.
Here is how Twitter reacted
Imagine Maxwell coming at three and doing all the carnage like 25 overs before. Australia could well hit 500 in Nottingham.#AUSvBAN

It's interesting that Warner now has the highest innings of the tournament so far and yet still doesn't quite seem himself. Or his old self, anyway. #CWC19 #AUSvBAN

Maxwell was on 32 off 9 balls and then Khawaja decides he is making him look bad. Great run out. #AUSvBAN

Top stuff from Warner. At this rate, 350 could be on and that was improbable at one stage. Will be a far tougher chase for Bangladesh than the one against the West Indies
